Digital Sun
Digital Sun is the Spanish studio behind the original Moonlighter (2018) — the dungeon-crawling, shopkeeping indie hit. Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault is their sequel, shifting from 2D pixel art to a 3D isometric perspective while keeping the loot-and-sell loop fans love.
Published by 11 bit studios (This War of Mine, Frostpunk), the game entered Early Access on November 19, 2025 with a free demo available to download. The 1.0 full release lands on September 2, 2026 across PC (Steam), PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Game Pass (day one on console and PC). A physical edition follows on November 13, 2026 via Silver Lining (Standard €49.99 / Collector’s €79.99), and the digital launch window carries a 10% discount off the $29.99 list price.
Early Access reception has been strong: Very Positive on Steam, with preview verdicts around 8/10 praising the deeper loot puzzle, varied combat and the charming shop sim — while some note the combat can grow repetitive in longer sessions. To celebrate the launch, the original Moonlighter (2018) was given away free on Steam for a limited window (Aug 5–9, 2026).
