The Dive-Loot-Sell Loop

Dive
Enter a biome (Kalina, Gallery or Aeolia), fight through procedurally-generated rooms and collect relics. Watch for the Rupture state to knock enemies out of the arena.

Arrange Backpack
Relics interact in your 5×4 backpack. Curses (Burn / Shock / Petrify) buff or destroy neighbours. Place curse-modifiers next to expensive relics to stack Quality.

Set Prices
Back in Tresna, stock relics and set a price. Read customer reactions: aim for the Perfect Stamp. Every reaction is saved to your Codex.

Earn Gold
Perfect-price sales earn Shop Perks. Sell the daily popular item for a bonus. Stack Quality (+5% each) on high-rarity relics for the biggest payouts.

Reinvest
Spend gold on the blacksmith (weapons/armor), the shop expansion (25k then 50k), and the Merchant skill tree. The loop rewards reinvestment, not hoarding.

How does pricing work in Moonlighter 2?+

Set a price and watch the customer. Four tiers: Cheap (underpriced, fast sell), Perfect (optimal, red stamp, earns Shop Perks), Expensive (sells, no perks), Overpriced (refused). Each Quality point adds +5%, and daily popular items give a bonus.

What platforms is Moonlighter 2 on?+

PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. Early Access began Nov 19, 2025 (a free demo is also available); the 1.0 full release is Sep 2, 2026 on all platforms.

Is Moonlighter 2 multiplayer or co-op?+

No. Moonlighter 2 is single-player only. There is no co-op or multiplayer mode.

How many relics and biomes are there?+

120+ relics across three biomes: Kalina (desert, Burn curse), The Gallery (electric, Shock curse) and Aeolia (wind realm, Petrify curse). Each biome has its own boss.

Does it work on Steam Deck?+

Yes — Steam Deck Verified. Full controller support (Xbox / PlayStation / Switch Pro via Steam Input) plus keyboard & mouse.

Is it cross-platform / cross-save?+

It launches on PC, PS5, Xbox and Switch 2, but cross-platform play does not apply (single-player). Check official channels for cross-save details at 1.0.

Short sword, gauntlets, spear and greatsword — each with distinct attack patterns and combo rhythms suited to different playstyles. The 1.0 update also adds the Blo-Blitz dual guns.

Short Sword
Balanced / Beginner-friendly

Fast combos, good mobility and a reliable parry. Best all-rounder for learning the loop.

Gauntlets
Close-range burst

High DPS when you stay in the enemy face. Punishes greedy play but melts elites.

Spear
Range & poke

Keep enemies at spear-tip distance. Strong against Petrify biomes and flying foes.

Greatsword
Slow heavy hitter

Massive single hits and wide swings. Ideal for Shock-curse setups and grouped mobs.

New in 1.0: the Blo-Blitz dual guns add a ranged option to the roster. Crafting recipes and ancestral blueprints drop from biome bosses and the Greed Colosseum — check the blacksmith to upgrade each weapon family.

Relic Curses Explained: Burn, Shock & Petrify

Burn Curse
Kalina

Adjacent relics gain +Quality but can overheat. Use Burn modifiers next to your highest-value relics and keep flammables separated.

Shock Curse
The Gallery

Shock chains between electric relics. Too many connected cells cause Overshock and destroy items — batteries and insulators break the chain.

Petrify Curse
Aeolia

Petrified relics become immovable stone blocks. Plan backpack rows so Petrify does not lock you out of high-value slots.

Inventory

Backpack Organization Guide

Corner your high-value relics

Place Legendary / Epic items in corners so curses only touch one or two neighbours. This maximizes Quality gains while minimizing risk.

Break Shock chains

Never let Shock relics form a closed loop. Insert a battery or empty slot between electric items to stop Overshock.

Stack Burn for big payouts

Line Burn relics in a row so the outer ones buff the center item. The center relic gains +5% Quality per adjacent Burn source.

Leave Petrify room

Petrify turns a relic into a 1×1 block. Keep at least one flexible row so you can still fit new drops.
