Backpack Organization Guide
Your 5×4 backpack is where gold is actually made. Master Quality and curse placement and your best relics sell for far more than their base price.
How Quality Works
Quality is per-run and stacks from neighbouring curse sources. Every point is +5% sell price — so a few well-placed Burn relics can turn a 2,000g Legendary into a 3,000g+ sale. The grid is your profit engine; treat it like one.
Try the Backpack SimulatorDrag relics, test layouts, see live profitPlace Legendary / Epic items in corners so curses only touch one or two neighbours. This maximizes Quality gains while minimizing risk.
Never let Shock relics form a closed loop. Insert a battery or empty slot between electric items to stop Overshock from destroying your loadout.
Line Burn relics in a row so the outer ones buff the center item. The center relic gains +5% Quality per adjacent Burn source.
Petrify turns a relic into a 1×1 block. Keep at least one flexible row so you can still fit new drops from a vault run.
Quality is per-run. Once a relic hits its perfect price and max Quality, sell it — the gold funds blacksmith and shop upgrades that compound your income.
If a biome is the daily popular item, arrange that biome’s relics front-and-center: the +35% Hot Bonus multiplies on top of your Quality stack.
FAQ
How does backpack Quality work in Moonlighter 2?+
Each Quality point adds +5% to a relic’s sell price, and Quality is raised by adjacent curse sources in your 5×4 backpack. A Legendary relic with several Burn neighbours can sell well above its base Perfect Stamp price.
What is the best backpack layout?+
Corner your highest-value relics so curses only touch one or two neighbours, break Shock chains with empty slots or batteries, and line Burn relics so they buff a central expensive item.
How big is the backpack?+
The backpack is a 5×4 grid (20 slots). Shop upgrades and the Merchant skill tree can expand effective space and perks over a run.
Why did my relics get destroyed?+
That is Overshock — too many Shock relics chained together. Insert a battery or empty cell between electric relics to break the chain before it overloads.
